Samsung’s Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus phones demonstrates that you have to do things twice to get them properly. While the Galaxy S21 Ultra is just as bold as last year’s Galaxy S20 Ultra, it is a more refined version of the concept. The 100x Space Zoom is still available, but it is much more user-friendly. The “large for the purpose of being enormous” design is still present, but it appears to be more inviting. It’s still expensive, but for $1,200 (£1,149, AU$1,849), it’s $200 less than the S20 Ultra in the United States.
The S21 Ultra is unquestionably intriguing if you want the absolute greatest specs and features. Thanks to the upgrades, the phone will also appeal to camera enthusiasts. The addition of S-Pen support (it’s the first Galaxy S phone to do so) would undoubtedly pique the interest of Galaxy Note owners searching for a new phone.
The Ultra model from last year seemed to appear out of nowhere. It was an extravagant phone that, by chance, was released during the start of a global pandemic and recession. Its $1,400 (£1,199, AU$1,999) pricing and difficulties with its nearly domino-size camera system detracted from its daring, gigantic take on the Galaxy S range.
Overall, the S21 Ultra is a significant hardware and software upgrade over the S20 Ultra. It all makes sense when you take into account the lesser price. That’s why the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra received the Editors’ Choice Award from CNET. The whole Galaxy S21 series is on sale, and here’s how to get your hands on one.
